Feb 2nd - Feb 4thMiami Beach, FL

Unfortunately, the members of Los Muñequitos de Matanzas and Grupo Afrocuba de Matanzas who were originally set to perform at GroundUP have faced ongoing challenges regarding entry into the country. Despite the extraordinary efforts of individuals on both sides of the border, we have been unsuccessful in securing their arrival. As a result, we have assembled an incredible group of former members of not only Los Muñequitos and Afrocuba, but also Osain del Monte, to perform on Friday and Sunday nights. On Saturday, the final slot of the night will be filled by one of the best live bands in the world, Venezuelan virtuosos C4 Trio. Festivals always face unexpected challenges at the last minute, and this year has been full of them! But through it all, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you as we embark upon our 8th year celebrating music from around the world.

Below is the letter from Michael and Paul,

Dear GroundUP Music Festival Family and Friends,

We’re excited for you to join us for our 8th annual GroundUP Music Festival at the Miami Beach Bandshell from February 2-4, 2024.  Due to construction that will be taking place adjacent to the Bandshell on Friday until 6:00pm, there will be a few changes to the schedule and physical layout this year:

  • Friday, February 2 – the music program will be from 7:00-11:00pm in the Festival Bandshell only (not in the adjacent park).  This will be a not-to-be-missed evening featuring a SNARKY PUPPY FAMILY DINNER set as well as a one-time-only performance from a very special artist to be announced soon.  Before the music starts, we will host an actual family dinner, with Snarky Puppy members and other festival artists dining with you.
    • Attendance for the Friday shows is open exclusively to 3-Day Ticketholders;
    • Attendance for the Friday shows + Family Dinner Experience is included for All-In Ticketholders, 3-Day Ticketholders who also purchase Family Dinner Experience tickets, or ticketholders who purchase Friday Family Dinner Experience/Show Combo tickets (only 150 available).
  • Saturday/Sunday, February 3-4 – There will be a different physical footprint this year with festival entry through the park, the replacement of the VIP SkyLounge with a new VIP area, and a reduced capacity of 1,200 ticketed attendees per day instead of 2,000, keeping things even more intimate. We anticipate tickets to sell out well in advance of festival weekend.

There are a lot of changes this year, but we both feel that they will result in a more enjoyable festival experience all around. We hope to see you on the beach in February!

Absolutely not. The festival was designed so that you won’t have to choose between any of the artists’ performances.
